Welcome
Stolen moments...
...that is what it's taken for author Louise Lenahan Wallace to complete each of the three successful books she's written. A young mother with two preschool-aged kids when she began work on her first novel, The Longing of the Day, Wallace brought both discipline and creativity to the task.
It was a 20-year to 25-year process, but her first book – a tale of romance and adventure set in the hills and high plains of Wyoming in the late 1880's – was published by Topeka, Kansas-based Ogden Publications, Inc., in 2000. Death, danger and pain play roles in the lives of Wallace's characters – a family of Wyoming Territory cattle ranchers – but they get through it with an even mixture of faith and family.

"
I never dreamed I could do writing
'for real.' It was a source of comfort in
times of stress and chaos, even when
my characters were ornery and, refusing
to do what I told them, went their own
ways into situations I would never have willingly led them. I told them so, but
they wouldn't listen. - Louise Lenahan Wallace"
Day Star Rising, a romantic saga of the healing power of love in the face of slander and suspicion, came along a bit faster. Also published by Ogden, Wallace's second book, as with Longing, includes incidents that actually happened to Louise's 19th century ancestors. Lives of some characters from the first book continue into this popular sequel.
Wallace's eagerly awaited third novel, Days of Eternity, takes place as the Civil War erupts, shattering the lives and dreams of Zane, as he joins the Sixth Ohio Volunteer Cavalry, and Larissa, who is left to tend the farm and their children, ten-year-old Mac and five-year-old Rose. Days of Eternity is published by Treble Heart Books under the MountainView Publishing and Sundowners labels.
